At least 16 more people have been killed during a US drone attack in Pakistan's northwestern tribal belt.
According to APA, a Pakistani security official said the drone struck a home allegedly used by militants in Dwasarak village, about 40 km west of Wana, on Saturday.
The officials said on condition of anonymity "The locals have pulled 16 bodies and some survivors from the debris of the compound that was hit by the missiles."
Reports say dozens more civilians were injured in the attack and the death toll was expected to rise.
Meanwhile, thirty-nine militants have been killed and many others injured in a fresh operation by Pakistani security forces in different areas of the Orakzai tribal region of northwestern Pakistan.
A Press TV correspondent reported Pakistani helicopter gunships targeted what they called hideouts of pro-Taliban militants in Ghadazai and Ghundakai, including different areas of upper Orakzai, Friday.
The operation claimed the lives of 39 people and left many others injured.
